The International PGPR Workshop stands as the world’s most comprehensive conference dedicated to Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria and Bacteria (PGPR/PGPB), with an established legacy spanning 37 years since its inception 1987. Held every three years, this triennial gathering has become the definitive forum for advancing PGPR science and applications.
A Global Scientific Legacy Our workshop has traversed continents—from Switzerland (1990) and Australia (1994) to Japan (1997), Argentina (2000), India (2003), The Netherlands (2006), Oregon (2009), Colombia (2012), Belgium (2015), Canada (2018), and most recently France (2023). This geographic diversity reflects the truly international scope and collaborative spirit that defines our scientific community.
Advancing Science and Industry The 13th workshop builds upon this distinguished tradition while addressing today’s most pressing challenges. Our program encompasses both fundamental research breakthroughs and practical applications, featuring dedicated sessions on:
- Multi-omics, breakthrough and new technologies — exploring cutting-edge methodological advances
- AI, digital plant care, and PGPR — integrating artificial intelligence with biological solutions
- PGPR field application and commercialization — bridging laboratory discoveries with market implementation
- Plant growth promotion and induced systemic resistance — core mechanisms and applications
- PGPR Ecology (PGPR-other microbe interactions) — understanding complex microbial relationships
- Microbiome, synthetic community, and soil legacy — ecosystem-level approaches and long-term impacts
- Traditional core topics including microbial population effects, fermentation, and formulation technologies
Addressing Global Challenges In an era of climate change and environmental degradation, PGPR research has emerged as a critical solution for soil preservation, rehabilitation, and restoration. Our workshop serves as the primary forum where breakthrough research meets practical implementation, driving the field toward sustainable agricultural solutions.
Our Community The workshop brings together an international community of leading researchers, doctoral students, industry professionals, and commercial enterprises. This unique convergence fosters collaboration across the entire PGPR ecosystem—from fundamental discovery to market application.
